Cool temperatures and wind continue in Kern, slight chance of rain Friday night

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Temperatures during Thursday and Friday will remain cool in Kern County, and there is a possibility of some light rain tomorrow night into early Saturday morning.

As we head into the weekend, we can expect a slight warming trend and clearer skies. In the mountains, it will be cool and cloudy. Tehachapi will have a high of 54 degrees, and there is a chance of drizzle.

Weather Wednesday: Wildfire season

Additionally, there may be wind gusts of up to 55 mph. For the deserts, a high wind warning is in effect until 11 p.m. tomorrow. Windy gusts of up to 70 mph are expected. As we approach the weekend, temperatures will reach a high of 81 degrees on Sunday.

By the middle of next week, temperatures will rise into the 90s. Today, the air quality is expected to be good, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 42.
