Colorado Springs Airport sees busiest first quarter in decades

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) reported elevated levels of Spring Break traffic in March, contributing to the highest level of enplanements in the first quarter since 1998.

COS reports 100,115 passengers embarked in March and 199,549 traveled through the airport which is about a 21% increase year-over-year.

“The unprecedented level of travel that we have seen this year has made us optimistic for the remainder of the year, especially as we see the highest quarter-one enplanement levels in over 27 years,” said Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation.

COS said looking ahead to summer travel the airport will have new routes for customers including:

  • Avelo Airlines Hollywood-Burbank/Los Angeles nonstop flight

  • Sun Country Airlines and Delta Air Lines nonstop flights to Minneapolis/St. Paul

  • Southwest Airlines nonstop flight to Baltimore/Washington

  • Delta will have a second nonstop flight to Atlanta in July
