NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Christopher Newport University (CNU) will be holding a public comment hearing on Wednesday for people to weigh in on the University’s proposed tuition and fees for next year.

ODU proposes tuition increase, public forum meeting in April

The hearing is scheduled on April 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Freeman Center in Room 202. It will start with an informational overview of the operating budget, how tuition and fees are set and key factors influencing tuition and fees for the upcoming academic year.

According to the Board of Visitors, CNU’s final decision on fees and tuition relies on the state’s final budget, which has yet to be finalized.

Online registration can be found here, and in-person registration will be available from 9-9:30 a.m.

Each speaker is allowed a single presentation lasting at most three minutes. In order to have comments entered into the public record, individuals must bring a printed copy of their remarks.

Written comments will also be accepted until April 2, and can be submitted here.

The Board of Visitors is scheduled to meet on April 19 to set tuition and fees. More on this can be found on CNU’s website here.
