Clovis man found guilty of trafficking

Mar. 26—Clovis resident David Brown was found guilty this week for trafficking substances such as methamphetamines, heroine, fentanyl, and Xanax.

Brown, 53, had 10 grams of methamphetamines, black tar heroin, Xanax and fentanyl pills when officers searched his hotel room on January 25, 2023. He was then arrested and taken into custody.

Trafficking a controlled substance is a second degree felony. The Honorable Fred Van Soelen presided over the trial with Brown being represented by Kaitlyn Cochran with the Las Office of the Public Defender. Jon Harris, Assistant District Attorney prosecuted the case for the State.

Brown was taken into custody immediately upon the guilty verdict, and sentencing will be set at a later date.
