Cleburne County authorities identify skeletal remains found in late December

CLEBURNE COUNTY, Ark. – The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office has identified human remains that were found in December.

Deputies identified the remains as those belonging to 63-year-old Edward Rounds of Drasco.

In early January, Cleburne County officials said deputies were dispatched to the Jim Kress Wildlife Management Area near Wilburn on Dec. 31, 2023, after a woman found skeletal remains while walking her dog.

Deputies later asked for the public’s help in identifying the remains after previous attempts were unsuccessful.

Authorities said the investigation into the death is still ongoing.
