Three of the Louisville Fire Department firefighters who helped rescue a woman trapped in a tractor trailer hanging from the George Rogers Clark Memorial Bridge on March 1 were featured in the Kelly Clarkson Show segment "Rad Humans."

Truck operator Sgt. Joe Berrow, operations leader Capt. Michael Renn and rescue firefighter Bryce Carden appeared on the Kelly Clarkson Show Thursday to recount their rescue of the unidentified woman, who was trapped after a four-vehicle crash on the bridge forced the truck through the guardrail. The firefighters explained how working as a team was essential during this difficult mission.

"It was running like a well-oiled machine ... I just give so much credit to Louisville Fire Department and the teamwork," Carden said. "The team that I seen on scene was just, you know, it was flawless and we got the job done."

Carden said when he rescued the woman, he asked her to pray with her while they were being pulled up to the bridge. He said that "hits home" because a decade ago him and a friend were in a car accident and his friend, who died two days later, told him to "pray out loud."
