City of Robert Lee warns residents about 10K-plus bee swarm

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The City of Robert Lee has issued a public notice to the community about an area in the town estimated to have over 10,000 active bees.

According to the City, a report was received regarding active bees in the area of Austin Street and 4th Street. The location was evaluated and stated to have over 10,000 bees.

Bee removal efforts have been scheduled to begin at around 6:30 p.m. or 7 p.m. According to the City, this coincides with sunset, when the bees are expected to return to their hive.

Residents living within a 2-block radius are advised to remain indoors and shelter in place. Additionally, the City suggests relocating animals and livestock by the time the bee removal begins.
