City of Colorado Springs events, closures during Memorial Day
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs is observing Memorial Day on Monday, May 27.
Individuals can expect the following administrative and elected administrative offices and agencies to be closed on Monday:
Administrative offices for Mountain Metropolitan Transit
City Administration Building
City Auditorium
City Clerk
City Hall
Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum
Deerfield, Hillside, Meadows Park, and Westside Community Centers
Municipal Court
Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Administrative Building
Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site
Sales Tax Office
Sports Office at Memorial Park
Therapeutic Recreation Program at Westside Community Center
Pools, fountains, spray grounds to open Memorial Day Weekend
While facilities like Evergreen and Fairview cemeteries will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., gates will be open to visitors although offices will be closed. Evergreen Cemetery will host its annual Memorial Day event featuring the Buffalo Soldiers on Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. with guest speakers Laurel Barrett, International Ms. Colorado 2024, and a member of the Sons of Union Veterans.
Garden of the Gods Park, Memorial Park, Patty Jewett, and Valley Hi golf courses, Pikes Peak, and Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center will be open on Monday.
Pikes Peak uphill gates will change to summer hours starting Friday, May 24. The uphill gate will open at 7:30 a.m., Pikes Peak Summit closes at 7 p.m. and the downhill gate closes at 8 p.m.
Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center will also begin its summer hours on Saturday, May 25. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Helen Hunt Falls Visitor Center will open on Monday, May 27 daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Labor Day. Helen Hunt Falls will continue to be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
