Chamaign hotel remodel slated for June completion

Mar. 23—CHAMPAIGN — Renovations to the Drury Inn and Suites near Interstate 74 and Prospect Avenue are expected to wrap up this summer.

David Nischwitz, director of marketing for Drury Hotels, said the remodel is expected to be complete in June, about a year after the work began.

The hotel, located at 905 W. Anthony Drive, has remained open amid the renovations.

"We've been incorporating changes throughout all areas of the hotel as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing our guests' experience," he said.

Nischwitz said the remodel includes "completely refreshed" guest rooms, a renovated lobby and public spaces, increased dining space, new furniture and decor, new LED lighting and signs on the building's exterior, and a "refreshed" pool and spa area with new furniture and a restroom for guests.

When asked what prompted the renovations, he said Drury is dedicated to updating its hotels on a reoccurring basis for the benefit of its customers.
