Cease and desist order given to pest control company for door-to-door sales

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– Ecoshield Pest Solutions, Detroit LLC, has received a cease and desist order from the Michigan Attorney General’s Office for unlawful business practices.

According to Nessel, Ecoshield sells pest-control services to Michigan consumers through door-to-door sales, and the Attorney General and The Better Business Bureau have received complaints.

The Michigan Homes Solicitation Sale Act (HSSA) says customers can cancel door-to-door contracts in three days to receive a full refund.

Officials say if the pest control company does not comply with Michigan law, the Attorney General may begin a formal investigation or litigation under the Michigan Consumer Protection Act (MSPA).
