Cave Springs and Rogers agree to land swap

CAVE SPRINGS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Some people in Rogers will soon become Cave Springs residents after the two cities agreed to a land swap.

The swap was approved by both city councils on Tuesday night. Rogers will get land previously in eastern cave springs from Stratsman Lane to Pleasant Grove.

Cave Springs will be getting land west of Highway 112. The move connects both parts of Cave Springs that were previously separated by Rogers.

The mayors from both cities say each side will benefit from the swap.

“It helps the city be able to maintain their areas. It gets challenging when you have to develop around something because it belongs to another city,” Cave Springs Mayor Randall Noblett said.

“Long term, it will just benefit everybody because it creates continuity and straighter lines and a clearer idea of identity and where you are,” Rogers Mayor Greg Hines said.

Both mayors say people living in those areas will not see any impacts to their utilities for at least the next few years while the cities work to get things changed.
