Afterward, he discussed his re-election campaign and a push to hold companies accountable for increasing prices while turning record profits. He calls it “greedflation” and says his opponent, Republican Dave McCormick, will do nothing about it.

“If these big companies are mad at me now I got news for them,” said Casey. “They’re gonna be really mad at me and they’re gonna campaign against me. That’s why (McCormick) has got billionaires coming into this state, out of state billionaires coming into this state to help an out-of-state candidate” hitting on McCormick’s time living in Connecticut.

Casey also picked up an expected endorsement on Thursday from the State Education Association.

“Sen. Casey is exactly the kind of leader that educators, support staff, and students need in the U.S. Senate,” Pennsylvania State Education Association President Aaron Chapin said. “PSEA is proud to recommend him and stand with him as we work together to do what’s right for public education in Pennsylvania.”

McCormick, along with statewide Republican candidates, held a campaign event in the Harrisburg suburbs citing inflation and immigration as top issues for the 2024 campaign.

Election Day is November 5.
