Carlsbad strawberry fields are finally open after weather-related delay

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — After the abnormal winter weather and historic rainfall caused Carlsbad Strawberry Company to delay opening their U-Pick fields to the public, the business just announced they’re back open.

The company previously told FOX 5/KUSI they lost out on 85% of strawberry production due to the harsh winter conditions. Owner Jimmy Ukegawa said their harvest was cut down from eight months to five months.
