Burning strip mall draws large response from firefighters in Los Angeles County
A strip mall erupted in smoke and fire Thursday morning, drawing a second alarm response from firefighters in Lynwood.
Sky5 was over the scene on Atlantic Avenue between Elmwood Avenue and Imperial near the 710 Freeway Highway at 7 a.m.
Heavy smoke could be seen coming from the strip mall, which houses about eight shops.
Nearly a dozen firefighters were on the roof of the building trying to cut ventilation holes.
A second alarm was declared at one point to bring in additional resources.
Crews did appear to getting the upper hand on the situation shortly after 7 a.m.

There was no immediate word on a possible cause of the fire or if anyone was injured.
