BTPD hosts workshop educating about online danger

BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Bristol Tennessee Police Department (BTPD) led a free workshop on recognizing potential online dangers for parents and teens.

Detective Dan Crowe of the BTPD Criminal Investigation Division led the 90-minute class for parents and teens about the following topics, according to a release from the city:

  • Luring/predator grooming

  • Predator Tactics

  • Human trafficking

  • Graphic texting

  • Sharing graphic images

  • Current chatting applications

  • Smartphone capabilities

Slater Community Center hosted the event.
