Downtown Bradenton road reopens after closure due to broken sewer line, police say

Part of Ninth Street West in downtown Bradenton has reopened to traffic after a ruptured sewer line was repaired, the Bradenton Police Department announced Monday evening.

The closed section of Ninth Street West was between Manatee Avenue and Sixth Avenue. The Florida Department of Transportation’s traffic maps showed traffic delays in the area from noon to about 6:30 p.m.

According to Bradenton Mayor Gene Brown, a contractor hired by the Florida Department of Transportation damaged the sewer line during construction work.
