British Airways adds second daily flight to London from San Diego

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Travelers looking to catch a flight to London from San Diego now have more options.

According to a release from San Diego International Airport Tuesday, British Airways began offering a second daily flight from the airport to London for a limited time.

The airport said 40% of its flights on this route will connect to other cities like Edinburgh, Dublin, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Cairo, Rome and Mumbai.

The second daily British Airways flight began on Saturday. However, the added flights are seasonal and are only available until Oct. 25.

The flights between San Diego and London will have new arrival and departure times, the airport said. Arriving flights will land at 6:10 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. Departures out of SAN to London will be at 5:15 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The airport said since 2011, British Airways has served about two million passengers traveling between San Diego and Europe. The reason for the added flight is increased demand and popularity.
