Boy, 11, disappears near Los Angeles County elementary school

Authorities are asking the public for help in their search for a missing 11-year-old boy who disappeared from a neighborhood in Compton Monday.

Detectives said Irvin Diaz was last seen at 6:30 a.m. in the 700 block of North Bradfield Avenue, which is near Roosevelt Elementary School.

“Mr. Diaz’s family is concerned for his well-being,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in a special bulletin describing Diaz as “critical missing.”

Diaz stands 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black shirt, gray Dickies pants and black Nike shoes.

No further details about Diaz’s disappearance were provided.
