Rochester police are working Tuesday morning to recover a body located in the reservoir in Highland Park.

Emergency responders were alerted that a body was found in the Highland Park reservoir around 8 a.m. and the Rochester Police Department's scuba team is working to recover what appears to be a deceased adult from the water, said Rochester Police Capt. Greg Bello.

"We are in contact with the City of Rochester Water Bureau and have been told that the reservoir was immediately bypassed as soon as the discovery was made, drinking water has been tested and there are no safety issues at this time associated with drinking water," he said.

City officials said that the Water Bureau will drain and clean the reservoir once the body is removed from the water.
