Body of Apple Valley man discovered beneath bridge in Victorville

Authorities are investigating the death of a 38-year-old man whose body was discovered beneath a bridge in Victorville on Monday.

The body of David J. Ruff of Apple Valley was discovered about 6:35 a.m. beneath a train bridge beneath Bear Valley Road, just east of Industrial Boulevard, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and coroner's officials.

BNSF train personnel first reported seeing the body, sheriff's spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said.

"No suspicious circumstances were located at the scene," Rodriguez said.

A cause of death will be determined through an autopsy by coroner's investigators, she said.
