Big changes coming to Las Vegas Convention Center legacy campus

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The latest renovations to the Las Vegas Convention Center are in full view of conference-goers as they made their way around it on Wednesday during one of the largest conventions in town, the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters Show).

“I’ve come to Vegas a couple of times over the past several years and I’ve seen this part of town been torn apart and rebuilt,” NAB attendee Akaash Nanda explained. “It was a little bit confusing to navigate between the two venues and exhibit halls.”

The confusion should be cleared up when renovations on the North Hall are completed. It is part of a $600 million renovation to the entire convention center that will bring new technology including finding it easier for visitors to get around.

Other updates include interactive kiosks, wayfinding, and upgraded electrical access for exhibitors and guests, along with an expansive new climate-controlled grand lobby between North and Central Halls.

Work on the renovation of the South Hall is already complete and the new West Hall debuted in 2021 while work on the North Hall started this January.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is working closely with trade shows to ensure minimal impact on conferences during construction including added signage and wayfinding.

“I’m excited for the infrastructure improvements. I’ve been a long-time fan of this city and it’s only growing,” Nanda said.

Construction on the North Hall will continue through the end of this year with Central Hall construction starting after that. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in time for CES 2026.
