If you've been on social media in recent days, you may have seen a pitch to donate to President Biden's presidential campaign, which especially caught your eye as a Delawarean.

"Donate now for a chance to meet the President and Dr. Biden in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware!" it reads.

How far we have come since 1992 when "Wayne's World" famously roasted the First State with the line, "Imagine being able to be magically whisked away to Delaware. Hi. I'm in ... Delaware."

Fast-forward 32 years and being magically whisked away to Delaware is now a lure for small dollar contributions to a presidential reelection campaign.

The advertisement says if you donate at least $25 to the Biden Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee authorized by Biden for President and the Democratic National Committee, you could be selected for "a beach day in Rehoboth Beach."

It includes a paid-for flight, hotel stay and a meet-up with the president and first lady for an ice cream cone in town, not far from their summer home in North Shores.

But where will the Bidens go for ice cream?

Based on Biden's past ice cream habits in Rehoboth Beach, odds are probably good that they will bring their supporter to one of two shops the Bidens frequent.

The not-so-flashily named The Ice Cream Store (6 Rehoboth Ave.) is steps from the Boardwalk and has sold scoops to the Bidens in the past.

Loaded with more than 100 flavors, the bulk of which are homemade, the shop famously has offered some purposefully experimental and brow-raising offerings, such as Ghost Pepper. But if the president stops by with the winner, he would probably bypass the more wild varieties and go in hard for his favorite, chocolate chip.

Perhaps the out-of-town guest will try Biden's Summer White House Cherry Ice Cream, which was first unveiled at the ice cream parlor in 2021.

Two blocks away is the smaller Double Dippers (11 N. First St.), which uses Hershey's ice cream for its overflowing waffle cones.

In 2021, Double Dippers owner Joe Mack told the New York Times that Biden likes to recite old Irish sayings when he stops in for a quart of chocolate chip. He's also been known to "double dip" and get a waffle cone with the same flavor before heading out the door.

If a Biden supporter is more of a soft-serve fan, perhaps they will end up on the Boardwalk at Kohr Brothers Frozen Custard (5 Rehoboth Ave.), which dates back to York, Pennsylvania, in 1917 and eventually landed at Delaware's beaches. The chain also has locations in Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia.

The shop's unique Orange Cream flavor, mixed with the light and creamy texture of the silky smooth custard, is reminiscent of a Creamsicle.

And if the donor brings their dog, they could always make a pit stop at Salty Paws (43 Rehoboth Ave.), touted as the first "doggie ice cream shop" in the country, now with shops also in Bethany Beach; Philadelphia; and West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Let's just join the U.S. Secret Service in hoping the Bidens keep Commander at home.

How to eat like Biden in Rehoboth Beach

With a vacation home in town, the Bidens have been spotted at several eateries over the years.

Here are some of the spots that are Biden-approved:

Casapulla’s Subs (19331 Lighthouse Plaza): When Biden wants a taste of upstate, he has been known to stop into this iconic Delaware sub and steak shop chain.

The Coffee Mill (127 Rehoboth Ave.): The president favors the house blend, Jungle Java, which has become jokingly dubbed the Biden Blend by some.

DiFebo’s Restaurant (12 N. First St.): In addition to having sit-down meals at this Italian favorite, which also has a sister location in Bethany Beach, Biden has been known to stop by just to pick up red sauce to go.

Egg (510 Rehoboth Ave.): The Bidens have had breakfast here multiple times with Biden reportedly favoring their buttermilk pancakes, but also once chowing down on their scrambled eggs, bacon and toast.

GreenMan Juice Bar & Bistro (12 Wilmington Ave.): The healthy smoothies and juices at the tiny GreenMan draw big crowds, including sometimes the town's best-known residents.

Henlopen City Oyster House (50 Wilmington Ave.): The Bidens visited this hot spot only two months ago, best known for its lobster rolls, lobster macaroni and cheese and crispy fish sandwiches.

Lori's Oy-Vey Cafe (39 Baltimore Ave.): The Bidens have visited enough that the owners have created a sandwich in their honor: The Bidens. It's half tuna salad (Joe’s regular order) and half chicken salad (Jill’s order).

Touch of Italy (19724 Coastal Highway): When it comes to dinner, Biden loves Italian no matter where he is. And this eatery has also reportedly hosted the Delaware power couple over the years.
