Even President Joe Biden's campaign was seeking to take advantage of the buzz Thursday surrounding the NFL draft in downtown Detroit.

Biden's campaign released a short digital ad for social media targeting former President Donald Trump on NFL football.

The Biden-Harris campaign released a short digital ad Thursday attacking former President Donald Trump on NFL football.

"Football is boring as hell," and "nobody cares about football," Trump is shown saying in video clips.

Detroit, Green Bay, Phoenix and Pittsburgh are among the NFL cities the ad is targeting on Facebook and Instagram, a campaign spokesman said.

Biden is shown posing with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, star teammates on the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. Possibly not the best image to appeal to Detroit and Michigan voters, given that feelings are still raw over the Lions missing their chance to take on the Chiefs in the Super Bowl after their 34-31 loss to San Francisco in the NFC championship game, following a historic season and playoff run.

"Make the right pick in November," is the ad's closing message.

Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, the spouse of Vice President Kamala Harris, who is to be in Detroit to attend the draft Thursday night, said in a statement provided to the Free Press that NFL football unites America, but "we can expect Donald Trump to be sitting on the sidelines trying to make tonight about himself, rage-posting on his failing social media platform and spewing his extreme, divisive, and historically unpopular agenda."

Steven Cheung, a Trump campaign spokesman, did not immediately respond to a text message seeking comment. But Cheung later posted to the social media platform X a video of Trump throwing a football in Buffalo in 1992 and said Biden "could barely hold up a football."
