Biannual book sale at Levi Heywood Memorial Library in Gardner - when you can go

The Levi Heywood Memorial Library in Gardner kicked off their biannual three-day Friends of the Library book sale with a special preview sale for Friends members on Thursday, April 19. The sale is open to the public on Friday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Library officials said they expected about 400 people to stop in to browse among the nearly 10,000 titles for sale at the popular fundraiser, which typically brings in about $7,500 twice a year to help support the library's programs and services.

One of the most unique aspects of the sale is that the inventory of books will be constantly updated during the three-day event, according to organizers. Most books and DVDs are on sale for $1.
