“In order for our community to begin to heal, I am calling for Fenton District 100’s superintendent to step down,” DeSimone said in the letter. “In addition, I am also calling for the Fenton School Board to investigate and remove anyone who knew of these allegations and chose to do nothing.”

On Monday, the teacher accused of sexual abuse that went on for years was fired. Sources told WGN News that staff member had been on paid leave.

WGN News is not naming the teacher because he has not been charged with a crime.

The Bensenville Police Department is investigating.

Earlier this month, what appeared to be a police report of the alleged sexual abuse was published on social media, but the police department hasn’t confirmed its authenticity.

The report details sexual abuse allegations with at least one student that dates back decades.

On Wednesday, the school board meeting was explosive and packed with people who were upset. They too were calling for the resignation of Superintendent James Ongtengco and other administrators.

When asked if he would resign, Ongtengco said “no comment.”

School Board President Cary Lewis said “absolutely not.”
