Belden man rearrested for 2020 armed robbery
TUPELO – A Lee County man who failed to show up for his own trial in circuit court last December was rearrested man last weekend.
Timothy Rydell Montgomery, 42, of Belden, was arrested May 18 by the Tupelo Police Department on a capias warrant. Montgomery was indicted in October 2020, accused of robbing a man of cash at gunpoint the preceding summer.
He was free on a $75,000 appearance bond when he failed to show up for his trial on Dec. 14, 2023. At that time, the court issued a new warrant for his arrest. He is being held without bond on the circuit court warrant.
