Bay Area city named 2nd-most ‘family-friendly’ travel destination in US: Yelp

(KRON) — As the spring season begins this week and the weather begins to warm up, more people are going out for trips. Perhaps you’ll see an influx of families from across the country going to this Bay Area city for a spring/summer vacation.

Although the city may be known for its wineries, Napa was named the second-most “family-friendly” travel destination in the United States, according to Yelp.

The list, released this week, ranked 10 U.S. cities that have “popular options for outdoorsy, foodie or culture-seeking families.” San Luis Obispo, approximately four hours south down Highway 1 from San Francisco, was the other California city to crack the top 10.

The list has cities with “kid-friendly” establishments. There was an 88% increase in Yelp searches of “good for kids” in 2023 from 2021.

Yelp mentioned four family-friendly businesses that visitors can explore in Napa.

Boon Fly Cafe, inspired by legendary children’s author Dr. Seuss, has a “Green Eggs and Ham” dish. Connolly Ranch has “an educational wildlife experience that has everything from baby goats, wild gardens and chicken pens,” Yelp writes.
