Backroads Vendor Market offers one-stop shopping at Lawrence County Fairgrounds

On Friday and Saturday, the annual Backroads Vendor Market welcomed local businesses to the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.

The market provides one-stop shopping for area residents.

Serenity Sweet shopped in the Maddie Lee Boutique vendor trailer Friday. Owner Charity Russell and Kaitlyn Shelton chatted with customers about the business, which is based in Mitchell at the old Greccos Pizza location, just off of Ind. 37. The website is www.maddieleeboutique.com.

Event Coordinator Amy Brazzell said this was the fourth year for the market.

"We have over 80 vendors, with crafts, food, and live music on Saturday," Brazzell said. "I feel like we have something here for everybody."

Bedford resident Heather O'Conner owns Homegrown Handies, which sells tie-dyed apparel including T-shirts, dresses, hoodies and more. O'Conner is also a frequent vendor at the Bedford Farmer's Market. Homegrown Handies can be found on Facebook.

Bedford resident Carra Harbstreit's The Turquoise Feather also had a stand in the Lawrence County Expo Hall.
