DENVER (KDVR) — “Avatar: The Last Airbender” has gained popularity around the world recently after Netflix released its live-action adaptation of the award-winning Nickelodeon series.

This fall, Coloradans will have the chance to attend a live performance of the show’s iconic musical score at Buell Theatre.

Forbes reports that the live-action adaptation got over 21 million views in its first four days on the platform, reaching the top 10 in 92 countries on the English TV List.

The original “Avatar: The Last Airbender” series ran from February 2005 to July 2008 and has since won a Peabody Award, a Primetime Emmy, multiple Annie Awards and multiple Genesis Awards. It also has garnered crowds of fans across the world.

The nearly two-hour concert at Buell Theatre will feature an orchestra playing the soundtrack live while highlights from the show are projected on a full-size cinema screen, making for a “truly immersive” experience, according to a release from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

“The projection will feature the original dialogue and sound effects without any pre-recorded music, allowing the live orchestra to perform the legendary score live and in perfect sync with the show scenes,” the event listing reads.

Emmy Award-winning composer and musician Jeremy Zuckerman, who composed the original score, worked with the show’s co-creators to expand the original compositions specifically for the concert series, according to the release.

“It’s been incredibly satisfying and moving to see the audiences’ emotional response to these concerts, and to be a part of that atmosphere is a uniquely beautiful experience,” Zuckerman said. “I’m overjoyed that many more people — Avatar fans both new and old — will get to experience the show during this wider tour.”

The tour comes to Denver at Buell Theatre on Sept. 10, and tickets are available for purchase now through the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
