Author, TV personality to speak at Right to Life gala

LaSALLE — Rachel Campos-Duffy, a New York Times best-selling author, television personality and host of cable news morning show "Fox & Friends Weekend," will be the guest speaker at the 2024 Focus on Life Benefit Gala Oct. 22. The gala is hosted by Monroe County Right to Life.

The banquet and silent auction will be held at LaRoy's Hall, 12375 S. Telegraph Road. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the dinner and program will start at 7.

Seating is limited, according to Robert Burke, president of the county chapter. Reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations with payment are due by Oct. 1. Admission is $125 a person or $720 for a table of eight if postmarked or timestamped online by June 1. The fee is $850 for a table of eight if postmarked or timestamped online by Aug. 1. The fee is to $1,000 for a table of eight if postmarked or timestamped online Aug. 2 or later, Burke said.

Campos-Duffy is married to former U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy of Wisconsin, and the couple have nine children. Their youngest daughter, Valentia, was born with Down syndrome. According to Right to Life, Campos-Duffy "considers it a privilege to use her platform to advocate for her daughter and everyone with special needs."

Campos-Duffy's advocacy work also includes serving as the national spokesperson for the Libre Initiative, a nonprofit organization that advocates for the economic empowerment of Hispanics through limited government, entrepreneurship and self-reliance. She also served on the board of directors for Hispanics for School Choice.

Campos-Duffy and her husband host the podcast “From the Kitchen Table.” She got her start in television on MTV’s reality television show “The Real World.” Campos-Duffy's season filmed in San Francisco and remains the franchise’s most popular and culturally groundbreaking season, she said.

She has also appeared as a frequent guest on NBC’s "Today Show" and ABC’s "The View." In 2008, she co-hosted the series “Speaking of Women’s Health” on the Lifetime Network with Florence Henderson.

Campos-Duffy has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in international affairs from the University of California at San Diego.

Amber Roseboom, the new president of Right to Life of Michigan, will host the program. She succeeded Barbara Listing as president on Jan. 1.

Roseboom said her interest in the political arena is rooted in defending the right to life for the most vulnerable. She is married to Tim Roseboom, her husband of 28 years.
