ASU hosting sixth annual Art Student Scholarship Exhibit
SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The sixth annual Art Student Scholarship Exhibit will be held in Gallery 193 in the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building at Angelo State University through April 2.
This exhibit features works of “ceramics, digital media, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and mixed media,” according to ASU. It is also a culmination of the annual competition for scholarships. The artwork of 10 scholarship winners is included in the display.

ASU states that this year’s overall winners include:
Best in Show – Donna Swartz Family Visual Arts Scholarship – Hannah Jones of Fort Worth, “Self Portrait” oil painting
First Place – Johnson Memorial Scholarship – Natalie Reid of Snyder, “Invisible String Theory” sculpture
Second Place – Aubrie Aguilar of Marfa, “Centipede” ballpoint pen drawing
Third Place – Friends of the Visual Arts Scholarship – Hope Libell of San Angelo, “All American” ceramic piece
Ceramic Award – Olson-Buttery Scholarship – Sierra Morrison of San Angelo, “Capitalism”
Senior Award – Brianna McDonald of San Angelo, “Watch Them Run” oil painting
Edwards Trust Scholarship – Samantha Guyett of Cibolo, “Marty McFly” watercolor painting
Honorable Mentions – Charles Day Windell Scholarship, Josephine Bell Scholarship
Cecilia Dunlap of San Angelo, “Dead Dogs Fight” graphic design
Mia Flores of San Angelo, “Musical Chairs” charcoal drawing

The exhibit is free and open to the public on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
