Arrest made in February triple-shooting at Laurel apartment complex

A suspect in a triple shooting that occurred in Laurel in February has been arrested in Ocean City, Maryland, and is awaiting extradition to Delaware.

Branson Daniels, 22, was taken into custody at an Ocean City motel by the U.S. Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force on Wednesday. He is being held in Maryland and faces "numerous felony and misdemeanor charges" upon his return to Delaware, the Laurel Police Department said in a news release.

Over 50 shots were fired at a large gathering in the Carvel Gardens apartment complex Feb. 11, according to police, with three people struck by the gunfire. A 26-year-old woman was shot seven times, a 17-year-old boy was shot twice, and an 18-year-old woman was treated on the scene for a graze wound, Laurel police spokesman Kevin Lieber said. All three survived.

Laurel police later released surveillance images of three suspects and, in early March, announced Daniels was wanted in relation to the shooting on a slew of felony charges, including possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony and 14 charges of first-degree reckless endangering.

Daniels, of Laurel, was also wanted by the Seaford Police Department in relation to a Feb. 24 vehicle pursuit, according to the Laurel Police Department, and for being in violation of probation.
