Arkansas’ richest families get richer in 2024, Forbes says

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The richest families in the Natural State have gotten richer in 2024, according to Forbes’ World Billionaires List.

Four Arkansas families, the Waltons, the Hunts, the Stephens, and the Tysons, had at least one person in the rankings of the nearly 2,700 billionaires.

All three of Sam Walton’s living children and seven members of the Walton family were atop the list among Arkansas families.

Jim Walton, Sam’s youngest son, tops the list of Arkansans with a net worth of $78.4 billion, good for 15th in the rankings.

Net worths were calculated using stock prices and exchange rates from March 8, 2024, Forbes says.

Bernard Arnault, a French businessman and CEO of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, topped the list with a net worth of $233 billion. Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and Larry Ellison rounded out the top five.
