COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Peachtree City native Brian Jack brought his campaign for the Georgia 3rd Congressional District seat to Columbus Monday night.

And he had some help from a high-profile friend.

Jack campaigned at a north Columbus restaurant with Arizona U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake.

Jack has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump. Jack worked in the 2016 Trump campaign, then worked four years in the Trump White House.

Tonight, he and Lake worked the room and worked up a crowd of more than 75 supporters.

Jack is running in the five-candidate Republican primary. The primary election day is May 21st.

The former president may not have been the room Monday, but his endorsement was the focus of Jack’s message.

“He’s going to represent Georgia well. President Trump knows that,” Lake said. “He’s been loyal. You know, so many people over the years stab President Trump in the back.  Brian Jack is going to have President Trump’s back. I’m going to have President Trump’s back in the Senate. And this go around. President Trump’s going to assemble a great team of America first fighters to make sure that this this agenda gets passed through quickly and we start getting back to peace, safety, security and prosperity.”

Jack says his work for Trump has prepared him for Congress.

“Well, I am so proud to not only have President Trump’s endorsement, but to have worked for him for the last eight years.” he said. “And I helped him build that America First agenda. I helped him campaign for it in 2016. I helped him enact it over the four years I served by his side in the White House. And I helped him get back to where he is today as the Republican nominee for president. The America First agenda has transformed not just our country, but especially here our community in Georgia’s third Congressional District. And I’m so proud to be running on a platform endorsed by him and articulating his message across our district.”

The Republican-leaning Georgia Third seat is being vacated by Congressman Drew Ferguson, who decided not to seek re-election.

Those running for the Republican nomination in the 3rd District race are former state Sen. Mike Crane, state Sen. Mike Dugan, military veteran Phillip Singleton, and Jim Bennett of Carrollton.
