Ascension Parish deputies identify man found shot to death inside car on I-10 East
PRAIRIEVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was found dead inside a vehicle by the Louisiana State Police.
APSO identified the victim as 20-year-old Chakerus Hamilton Jr. He was found around 3:30 a.m. on I-10 East in Prairieville, APSO said. The sheriff’s office said he is from Ascension Parish with family in Donaldsonville and Gonzales.
The sheriff’s office was alerted by the Louisiana State Police.
“Preliminary evidence suggests the victim sustained fatal gunshot wounds,” APSO said.
The investigation remains ongoing and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
