APD offers free motorcycle safety class

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) — The Abilene Police Department is offering a free motorcycle safety class.

APD motor officers will lead a free class for 30 people. Attendees must be over 18, have a valid driver’s license with an M endorsement, and current motorcycle registration.

Attendees will be required to bring:

  • Provide proof of liability insurance

  • Have a motorcycle with current registration. Must be in good working condition.

  • Protective equipment required:

  • DOT-approved helmet

  • Eye protection. No glass lenses are allowed.

  • Boots that cover the ankle

  • Gloves

  • Long pants

  • Long sleeve shirt

  • A folding chair is not required but is recommended

The course will be held on May 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Abilene Police Department, 4565 South 1st Street. You can reserve your spot by following this link.
