Apartment on Real Road goes up in flames

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Fire Department raced to put out a structure fire in an apartment complex on Real Road over the weekend.

The fire broke out Saturday inside an apartment, near Garnsey Lane around 2:30 p.m. Fire crews had to use a ladder to get to the roof of the fire located in the attic crawl space.

Video from the scene shows firefighters tearing out roofing tiles to get to the flames. No injuries were reported.

BFD says the fire remains under investigation.
