NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — For the second night in a row, another local protest took place involving the Israel-Hamas War, as pro-Palestine activists were near Old Dominion University in Norfolk Wednesday night.

Pro-Palestine protest at CNU stays peaceful

The group set up right outside Chartway Arena.

They organized a May Day cookout while rallying for justice in Palestine.

Demonstrators of all ages lined the sidewalk serving food and drinks as ODU campus police and Norfolk police looked on. The event remained peaceful.

10 On Your Side tried talking to those rallying for a ceasefire in Gaza. They told us they did not feel comfortable speaking with the media. Many wore face masks. Some used code names.

Another demonstration is planned for next Tuesday during the city council meeting in Virginia Beach.

WAVY’s Nick Broadway was outside the Chartway Arena Thursday morning, where some protestors were still seen. Broadway states police were watching the protestors from across the street.
