Alexis Gabe documentary will no longer air this spring on streaming platform, family disappointed

(KRON) — After the two-year mark since her disappearance, a documentary about 24-year-old Alexis Gabe’s homicide was supposed to be released this spring on several major streaming platforms.

However, the episode on season 27 of “On the Case With Paula Zahn” about the Oakley woman’s death will no longer air this spring, Alexis’ father Gwyn Gabe said last week in a Facebook post. Gwyn expressed the family’s “disappointment” in the network’s decision.

Confusion in the family stems from the fact a clip of an interview with Rowena, Alexis’ mother, was featured in the season 27 trailer. Gwyn said even the producer was unaware of the episode being excluded from the season — adding “there’s a possibility” that it will be included in season 28.

Gabe explained further why the airing of the documentary is important to the family.

“Our case remains open as we seek justice for our daughter. We have come across evidence of aiding and abetting while reviewing footage with Antioch PD. We hope that everything will be revealed in the documentary,” Gwyn wrote in a Facebook post on Monday. “Our attorney believes that the airing of the documentary could assist our case, which is why it is crucial for the network to broadcast it. This is why we requested your help by sending emails.”

Gwyn and Rowena had a “productive meeting” with new Antioch PD Chief Brian Addington, the father posted Tuesday on Facebook. He says his family and APD are still working to find justice for his daughter’s death.
