In Alabama, but making a run to GA for Powerball? Here are the nearest ticket sellers

Feeling lucky? The good news is that there are still no winners in the billion dollar Powerball lottery, and the jackpot is up to a whopping $1.09 billion (that’s with a B).

The bad news is that folks are flocking to lottery retailers to get their (hopefully) winning ticket, so the odds are skyrocketing - to the tune of 1 in 292 million.

Numbers are drawn on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Since no one stepped up to claim the prize on Monday, everyone is clamoring to buy what they hope is the winning prize. Tickets are sold in 45 states across the country, and unfortunately, Alabama is not among them. No worries, Alabama people, you can pop to Columbus for all your lottery needs.

Since we’re such close neighbors, there are all sorts of shops near the Georgia/Alabama border that won’t require too much of a drive to get there - some of them are even within walking distance. Most of the major gas stations and convenience stores will sell lottery tickets, but there are also a few locally owned spots that might be just as lucky.
