Additional charges added to suspect in secret peeping incident

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Greenville police say the suspect in the secret peeping incident at the Target in Greenville on Monday is now facing additional charges.

Thomas Elliott, 21, was arrested after a customer at Target recorded him putting his phone on the ground under a woman’s skirt. Police say after a review of store security footage, Elliot is now facing two additional charges for felony secret peeping.

He was picked up in Clayton, his hometown, by members of the Clayton Police Department, on Tuesday night. He was booked in the Johnston County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.

Greenville police say Target has fully cooperated with the ongoing investigation. Anyone who may have been in Target mid-morning on Monday and thinks they may have been nearby or had contact with Elliot is asked to call GPD Detective Verdin at (252) 329-3399.

Detectives also said they are aware of Elliot’s previous employment in several school settings and are working to review additional camera footage for any other possible victims. Elliott’s phone has also been seized but detectives have not found any evidence of inappropriate contact with children.

The investigation is ongoing.
