AAA Texas: Tyler has cheapest gas statewide for second consecutive week
TYLER, Texas (KETK) – AAA Texas released their Weekend Gas Watch, where they revealed that for the second week in a row, Tyler has the cheapest average gas prices statewide.
According to AAA, the average gas price in Texas is $3.16 per gallon, a slight drop from last week, and the national average price is $3.54 per gallon, one cent higher than the previous week. The report states that Tyler has the lowest average price for gas at $3.00 per gallon, the same as it was last week.
AAA said that the demand for gas is slightly decreasing due to the end of Spring Break travelling along with a slight increase to supply. However they said that there is still a possibility of price fluctuation due to the switchover to a more expensive Summer blend.
“Gas price hikes are taking a pause, but fluctuations remain possible in the coming days,” Daniel Armbruster, AAA Texas spokesperson, said. “The switchover to the more expensive summer blend fuel is about to get underway, which could push prices up in April.”
