This event will be on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 5:30 P.M. and will provide delicious refreshments. Attendees can also listen to the wonderful music of Alan Ashworth.

On May 5, 1913, the Library first opened and went originally by the name of the Bluefield Public Library. The library at the time contained 600 books. On May 1, 1974, the library opened at its current location with its book number increasing to 20,000. The name was changed to Craft Memorial Library to honor Jack Craft.

Currently, the Craft Memorial Library has over 100,000 books including other items.

Alan Ashworth, the musician for the event started playing at a young age by his father. His father was a violinist. Although he started to follow in his father’s footsteps with the violin by taking lessons in the 5th grade, Alan decided to pursue the guitar in 7th grade after watching the Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan Show. Currently, Alan is a member of the Central Pickers and also pastors two churches in Bastian, VA.

This event is sponsored by Friends of the Library. Please RSVP by April 29, 2024.
