Man killed, 3 injured in domestic shooting in Oak Forest

OAK FOREST, Ill. — A man is dead and three others are injured after a shooting in south suburban Oak Forest.

According to police, officers were called to the scene in the 5500 block of Babette Court just after 5 p.m. Sunday following reports of shots fired in the area.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found three people who had all suffered gunshot wounds.

One of the victims, a 39-year-old man, was struck in the head and transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner has identified the victim as 39-year-old Mohannad G. Othman.

A second victim, a 12-year-old girl, was shot and is in still stable condition.

A third victim, a 19-year-old man, was struck in the leg and was treated at an area hospital and released.

A fourth person, a 19-year-old woman, was shot in the leg. She was transported to an area hospital where she is being treated for her injuries.

Oak Forest police had previously referred to the shooting as a domestic shooting and later said that there is no threat to the community.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and authorities say no arrests have been made.
