“While we haven’t received specific requests for victims from local hospitals, gunshot injuries often require multiple units of blood. We must remain prepared for such emergencies and respond in the aftermath to replenish usage,” said the Medical Director of The Blood Center. Dr. Tim Peterson.
Peterson says the vital role of pre-existing blood donations emphasizes that contributions before emergencies are crucial during a crisis.
The investigation into the shooting remains under investigation.
