2 Jamestown men arrested in connection with March fatal shooting

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two Jamestown men have been charged for their alleged involvement in a fatal shooting last month, the Jamestown Police Department announced.

Police said William Hernandez, 53, and Juan C. Rivera, 35, were both arrested in connection with the shooting death of 26-year-old Trevon Tripp of Dunkirk on March 18. The shooting also left two other individuals injured.

Rivera, who was taken into custody a day after the shooting, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, while Rivera was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree robbery.

Police said the shooting took place inside a residence at 839 Prendergast Ave. after authorities responded to a gunshot complaint.

An investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, and police said they have identified “several individuals” who were allegedly involved in the incident.
