Man dies in motorcycle crash on River Boulevard Sunday: CHP

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man is dead after being ejected from his motorcycle Sunday afternoon in east Bakersfield, according to California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded to the intersection of River Boulevard and Bernard Street on Sunday for reports of a motorcyclist down in the roadway, just before 4:30 p.m.

The motorcyclist was identified Monday as Kenneth Lee Armstrong, 59, of Bakersfield.

CHP officials said Armstrong was traveling northbound on River Boulevard when he lost control of his Honda motorcycle and crashed with the raised curb edge. He then collided with two traffic signal boxes and a street sign, according to CHP.

The Armstrong was ejected from his motor bike and sustained fatal injuries, according to officials. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
