1 injured after car crashes into utility pole, Horry County Fire Rescue says

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Drivers are asked to avoid the area of Highway 707 and Elm Road in the Murrells Inlet area due to a car crashing into a utility pole, Horry County Fire Rescue said.

All lanes of Highway 707 are blocked because the utility line is down across the roadway. One person is being transported to the hospital with injuries, HCFR said.

Fire officials were dispatched to the area at about 5:04 p.m.

The South Carolina Department of Public Safety is investigating, and Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire District assisted. Utility crews will be working to repair the damaged equipment, HCFR said.
