1 adult, 2 children displaced by Suffolk duplex fire

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Three people, including two children, have been displaced by an overnight fire at a Suffolk duplex.

Around 2:30 a.m. Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the 6000 block of Bradford Drove for a house fire.

The fire was outside of the duplex and involved a privacy fence and the electrical meter bases that provided power to the duplex.

Crews knocked down the flames preventing the fire from entering the inside of the home.

Officials said the fire damaged the meter bases and Dominion Energy has responded to secure power at the meters.

No one one was hurt. The Marshal’s Office is still investigating the cause of the fire.
