Everybody knew how much team speed the Cincinnati Reds had. But nobody knew how fast they could go from young and dynamic to MLB's worst-hitting team.
The last week of Reds baseball has nearly been unwatchable. The good news is that it can't get any worse (if it can, I will have to start a new Netflix series). Players like CES, Will Benson, and Jeimer Candelario are massively underperforming, while players like Bubba Thompson, Nick Martini, Luke Maile, and Stuart Fairchild do not belong on a big-league roster. The Reds are now batting .209 collectively as a team, which statistically makes them the worst offensive team in all of baseball (Woof).
Wyatt Langford and Adolis García homered during Texas’ four-run first inning, helping Dane Dunning and the Rangers beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-3 on Sunday. García golfed an 0-2 curve from Andrew Abbott (1-3) deep to left for a two-run homer with two out in the first. After Jonah Heim singled, Langford went on a memorable dash around the bases for his first career homer.
